OWNER TRAINING
ASA Service Dogs offers private lessons to assist handlers with training their personal dogs. We teach advanced obedience, task training customized for each service dog team, and public access skills. Basic obedience is a prerequisite for ASA's advanced assistance dog private lessons.
We highly recommend John K9 for obedience and manner training!

How long does the training take?
Training can take anywhere from 10 to 20+ lessons, depending on many factors, including how many tasks and behaviors you want to train, how quickly your dog learns, how often you practice the daily training homework, etc.
What do you teach?
Some of the things we can teach are advanced obedience, public access skills, desensitization, service dog tasks, therapy dog training, emotional support dog training, advanced handler education, medical odor alert.
How much does it cost?
It costs $150 per lesson. Each lessons run for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Where do the lessons take place?
Lesson locations can vary depending on the content of the lesson. However, lessons always take place in a public location in the South Lakeland area.
Do you certify or register my dog as a service dog?
No, there is no service dog registry or certificate in the USA. However, we do offer a "testing day" during which we video record the assistance dog team performing public access skills, tasks, and handling behaviors. We keep this on file as verification of training when asked by airlines, schools, housing, etc.
